Whilst hanging out in Newtown sampling the fine mexican foods and drinks from Guzman y Gomez, we happened upon a young girl handing out free roses.

She stopped us in the middle of the footpath and held out a rose. She didn’t say too much, just gave us this rose with no explanation and left.

We wanted to share the love by passing the rose onto someone else, but found that it’s harder to give away a rose than it is to give people pamphlets.

We saw the girl with the roses across the street and took our opportunity to find out what she was up to.

Upload your own stories and acts of kindness and let us know!

And finally, if you know the girl in the video, or maybe you ARE the girl in the video, could you please message me, we would love to speak to you again!
I wanted to test out compositing elements into a video. I also was playing with image stabilization and seeing how that worked.

This video is far from a finished product. Just a test.

Something I learned from this was shooting video with an 8mm Fisheye lens makes compositing elements into the video extremely awkward. I wonder if I can distort my stock footage to match the roundness of the fisheye video…

Expect bigger and better things from me in the future!

I made a canyon type terrain and flew a spaceship through it. I attached the spaceship to a path, attached a light to the spaceship, attached a camera to the path slightly slower than the spaceship, and also attached a light to the camera.

I was also experimenting with environmental effects such as fog, as you can see on the floor of the terrain.

Once again, this video isn’t spectacular, but I can’t wait to use these skills for something awesome!

The application was developed in Adobe Flash with the intention of deployment on Kiosks or large scale Tablets such as the iPad. The tutorial section features several videos which explain each individual step involved in the process of Self Serve use. The quiz asks the user 10 multiple choice questions, reinforcing knowledge from the tutorial.

Upon successful completion of the quiz, the user is offered bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points and is prompted for their Everyday Rewards card number.

Becoming insanely excited about After Effects after viewing videos and behind the scenes videos on youtube by Freddie Wong, Rommel and I got together and had a go at putting together a simple muzzle flare video.

The video quality isn’t the best because our studio setup consisted of an iPhone 3GS and depressing classroom fluorescent light strips.

But nonetheless, I’m quite happy with the way this video turned out, especially for a very very first attempt at VFX in After Effects.

Woo.

But more importantly, this semester I get to learn how to use Adobe After Effects and Adobe InDesign.

After the first semester of producing some not so creative items, such as my Interactive Tutorial and Quiz about Woolworths Self Serve registers, and creating a simple website using html and some javascript for form validation, I am incredibly excited to be using Adobe After Effects this semester.

I’ve always loved typographical animations like Samuel L. Jackson’s “Say ‘What’ Again” dialogue from Pulp Fiction and the countless infographics used on ABC’s The Hungry Beast, and I can’t wait to come up with something really awesome.

We are also doing a Portfolio class this semester, in which we get to create logos, business cards, brochures, showreels, dvd packaging as a portfolio of our works.

Here is a Bokeh wallpaper I created in 3D Studio Max.

Once again, I followed a tutorial, which I found here.

Applications: Autodesk 3D Studio Max.

I created this 3D Model of Japanese Zen Stones, following a tutorial I found here.

The file above is 1366x768 because I thought it would make a good wallpaper.

Applications: Autodesk 3D Studio Max.

This is a 3D model I created of my Hardcore Bunny vector...

This is a 3D model I created of my Hardcore Bunny vector character.

I thought it would be pretty cool if it was an action figure, so that’s what I did.

Applications: Adobe Illustrator, Autodesk 3D Studio Max.

This was a project that I had to create for my 3D Studio Max...

This was a project that I had to create for my 3D Studio Max class. I was asked to create a logo, and a 10-15 second animation featuring the logo.

I continued my logo theme for theoverhead.net, as I was never given the opportunity to create a 3D version of my logo last year, and always thought it would be well suited to a 3D version.

Music featured is Slats Slats Slats (Remastered) by Skrillex.

Applications: Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Lightworks beta.

For my Video class, I was asked to create a movie title...

For my Video class, I was asked to create a movie title sequence.

This is what I created. I know that Insert Title Here is a terribly clichéd thing to use as a title, but that wasn’t the point of the exercise.

Applications: Adobe Photoshop CS5, Final Cut Pro.

This is a commercial I filmed and edited in my Video class in...

This is a commercial I filmed and edited in my Video class in 2010, for my fictional organisation, theoverhead.net.

The video was filmed on a Nikon D5000, with Samyang 8mm Fisheye Lens and a windscreen camera mount.

I edited the video mainly using Final Cut Pro, and partially, due to technical difficulties, in Windows Movie Maker.

The music featured is Dreams and Reality by Trick Seventeen. The photography featured in the commercial is by Christine Lam.

Applications: Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Windows Movie Maker.

These are website layouts I designed for the Official t.A.T.u....

These are website layouts I designed for the Official t.A.T.u. Street Team and Fan Club in 2006.

I worked with a small team of international fans, reporting to the official t.A.T.u. management team. Unfortunately due to numerous management issues, the project never came to be.
